A mad scientist friend offers you a chip that would allow you to know what the people you’re talking to are thinking. The catch: you can’t turn it off. Do you accept the chip?
A wise man by the name David Cronenberg said, ‘Everybody’s a mad scientist, and life is their lab. We’re all trying to experiment to find a way to live, to solve problems, to fend off madness and chaos.‘
First of all if it was upto me, I won’t be the friend who is offered a chip by the mad scientist. I would rather be that mad scientist itself, its more likely my kind of thing.
The word ‘mad scientist‘ brings me back to those childhood days when I was unaware of voltage and power terms and I tried to give current to a motor with an attached small fan. I know it was one of the simple experiments but instead of small battery I tried with 240V of electricity! Suffice to say, I didn’t go near a switchboard for a whole week. Those glory days of my initiation to become a mad scientist, makes me nostalgic!
So back to the blog, if I was offered the mind reading chip, its simple. I would pass! The world has become the place where we get irritated with what people just talk. And to listen to their thoughts as well, that would be some special kind of hell!
