When was the last time a movie, a book, or a television show left you cold despite all your friends (and/or all the critics) raving about it? What was it that made you go against the critical consensus?
‘How could you do that?‘ My mind screamed with fury. Here I was, reading a wonderful book ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows‘ and the author was playing with my emotions. Imagine the magical journey you are in where danger lurks in every corner. Both the protagonist and the antagonist are preparing the forces for the final fight. And suddenly you are thrown out off the balance of narration.
There I was, as the protagonist narrowly escapes the clutches of his opposite, an amazing character dies. He was just a small character but not after the author had breathed a life into this elf. Likewise, there had been various characters which died in this installment of the whole journey.
This was the book which shattered various records in fields of books and movies and gained so much popularity by one and all. And yet this book left me cold all inside and not just because an elf died!
Towards the end of series, the journey got darker and more darker along with so many characters getting killed off. There didn’t remain an ounce of innocence or a satisfaction of some noble deed.
Thankfully, there is always a book which can lift the mood from the previous book!
