Ramblings on ‘Walk’

Hello there you beautiful you!

hope your day is going well too.

Enjoy this leisurely art of words glued,

cos your’s truly is back with some ramblings new.

Oh, what a beautiful day this is too,

when the sun shines warmly on you.

And what a beautiful sight it is to,

indulge in the coolness of a sky’s blue.

Ever imagined what clouds are made of too,

is it a big, fluffy, cotton candy shaped balloon?

Or a beautiful dandelion waiting to be blown?

whatever the season on, the sky looks artistically drawn.

Did nature ever mesmerise you,

with its lush greenery bestowed onto?

And did it ever happen with you,

that while walking, the sun played peek-a-boo!

Does the starry night hymn to you,

with its soothing silence of nothingness too?

Do you wish of doing the day’s things anew,

so that your conscience can sleep peacefully too?

Oh the walk is now coming close to.

Does marvelling nature does that to you?

Maybe its only felt by pleasingly few,

when both the mind and the heart are contented too.

Ramblings on ‘Train’

Sitting in a train makes me think so,

is it the speed  that is moving us through?

The tired masks loudly says it too,

what the world has come to?

Presenting the usual ramblings to you,

where the mind concocts something new.

If you are not familiar with this cue,

just read some previous ramblings too.

Where was the last time you travelled to,

with bags and luggage all set through.

Was it in a crowded train for you,

when you realised that this one wouldn’t halt upto?

Was there a safety check of belongings too

when boarding of train was done by you?

Or is it just me who loves to do,

the important rule of seeing things through?

Do you hang at the door too,

where there’s a constant danger of falling through?

Maybe its the sweet breeze that compells you,

To do what your Mom says NOT to do.

Everyday there’s a constant struggle for you,

where an inch of space matters a great deal too.

But ultimately the thought hits you,

what the world has come to?

Pursuing Rajdhani

Mumbai Central Rajdhani.jpg

The mood was cheerful as the sun shined brightly in the morning. Everything was going on smoothly till we missed our pre-planned local train from Dombivli. As the train raced away from the sights, our heart sank. Our brains started the worst-case scenario’s Powerpoint presentation. If this local train was lost, then it meant we would lose the changing local train from Dadar Junction, which was supposed to get us to Mumbai Central. This in turn, meant we would eventually lose the Rajdhani. All the hours of planning and deciding which places to visit on our first trip to Delhi was going down the drain.

The mood was tense as we caught a slow train from Dombivli. This was going to take us a complete hour to reach Dadar. Calculating possible and easier routes was how we tried to keep the negative thoughts at bay. Each and every route’s time to reach was very crucial. Picturing every outcome of all the possible routes was how we kept ourselves engrossed. Even the sound of laughter had an undertone of nervousness.

As our local train halted at Dadar,we leapt and ran like the hellhounds were chasing us. Yelling and screaming, we zigzagged through the crowd. This heroic efforts led us to get the other local train for Mumbai Central at the last second. Calming our heartbeats, which sounded as if someone was beating the drums, we waited to see if our efforts were going to pay off.

But we were not out of the woods yet! As we were reaching our destined train, a Ticket Checker made us freeze to the ground. Remember the antics at Dadar of running and screaming? Well, we had forgotten to get local tickets in all that hustle! We took leave from him with less money in our pockets. We ran to the platform, panting. And lo and behold! There was our train, standing in all glory. And strangely, the Powerpoint presentation ended abruptly. Within few minutes of getting in the Rajdhani, the train started chugging away from the platform.

The mood was relaxed. Outside, the evening had a pleasant warmth with acres of greenery as far as the eye can see. We had finally made it through all the hurdles. Everything was alright now.

The Ride above the Sea.

Whatever the current situation is, if your friends asks you to come for a hangout, you go…no questions asked. Its an untold pact we all make. Yesterday a friend of mine asked me to go out with them and I didn’t even ask where. Now it seems it was a pretty good idea…not to ask. B’cos I wouldn’t have had that look of surprise and joy with me if I knew I was going to a place where I had never been before….The Bandra-Worli Sealink.

The car ride at the humid climate made the visitation a little bit bothersome but the moment we were on that Sealink, the towering structures with the cables holding that majestic bridge made us feel in awe and wonder. The smooth roads, the various cars racing to their destinations and the cool breeze made the group feel….i think ‘contented’ is the proper word here.

Forgot that we were hauled by traffic policeman for extra people or we didn’t have proper papers of the car, yet that hindrance was minor hiccup. What is more fun than group of friends arguing over which song should be played in the car or confusing each other where to eat? The whole trip was filled with fun, especially because everyone of them had finally completed last paper of their 4 year-long engineering course.

The Worli Seaface was an added bonus. Watching the waves crashing over the shores while everyone sitting with a satisfied smile was just a calming effect everyone needed.

Finally the return journey of dropping friends one-by-one home, all the while admiring the view of empty road, the lamp post disappearing from the view due to car zooming at good speed and the night sky with small specks of lights from the apartments were the perfect ingredients for the serene feeling washing over and ending the awesome time everyone had with yearning for more of such times in future.

A Walk To Remember

Finally the moment everyone was waiting for had finally arrived. The main attraction of the evening, a walk on the famous Marine Drive, especially while gazing at the evening city lights which reflected like stars on the ground was finally emerging as a dream come true for everyone.

But it wasn’t just the walk or even the lights that was important than being with the people who mattered a great deal in life at that moment. The humid climate of May was a hindrance on evening’s stroll, yet everyone in the group were contented to be together. The sound of sea crashing over the rocks, creating a beautiful piece of music and the gentle breeze trying to cool the climate, giving a relaxed feeling, was just heavenly. The flashes of camera, helping to capture those moments of bliss was crucial piece for the group. The sounds of laughter and hushed conversations, made the evening more lively.

Though the group were there for more than 2 hours relaxing, they had to face the ugly truth – it was time to go back home. As Nelly Furtado said, ‘All good things come to an end.‘ the group started their last part of the evening – the walk back. To say the evening was amazing would be an understatement. The joyous face of each person indicated that the evening had gone much better than expected, even though they felt that time had flew away at lightning speed.

Some day while they look back at their life, this evening of joy, blissfulness, love and so many small things would make them remember what happiness is truly about. Though this will be one of the distant memory, it will be one of the most cherished one in each and everyone’s heart.
